BIOEAST FORESIGHT CONFERENCE
Climate-neutral future depends on sustainable bioeconomies
High-level foresight conference on positioning sustainable and circular bioeconomies in Central and Eastern Europe to achieve climate neutrality by 2050
Under the auspices of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency and the Hungarian Visegrad4 Presidency the BIOEAST Initiative organizes a conference aiming to present the BIOEAST Foresight Report, to internalize the foresight experts’ recommendations, to debate about priority issues, policy support and possible pathways.
The BIOEAST Foresight Exercise aims to identify specific macro-regional needs, challenges and opportunities, to advise policy and decision makers. The conference will bring together policy makers, experts and stakeholder representatives from BIOEAST countries and other EU Member States, as well as from the EU institutions.
The specific objective of the conference is to internalize the findings of the Foresight Report and discuss priorities in seven thematic areas: agroecological transition, food systems, forestry value chain, freshwater, advanced biochemical and biomaterials, bioenergy and new value added materials, research, education and skills.
We plan to have a hybrid event, looking for 100 participants physically present in the venue; others will be able to connect via web-based platform.
