Benefits and challenges of participation in co-funded partnerships

with a thematic focus on co-funded partnerships under Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment

Date: 13 June 2022, 10.00 – 14.00

Venue: Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU, 1040 Brussels, Rue de Trèves 92-98.

The National Research, Development and Innovation Office Hungary (NRDIO) together with the Czech Liaison Office for Education & Research (CZELO), the Polish Science Contact Agency of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PolSCA) and the Slovak Liaison Office for Research and Development (SLORD) are pleased to invite you to their annual joint event under the Hungarian presidency of the Visegrád 4 Group to be held on 13 June 2022 at 10.00 (CEST). The conference will focus on the benefits and challenges of participation in co-funded partnerships as based on case-stories linked to Cluster 6 of the Horizon Europe.

Co-funded partnerships are based on the close collaboration of the European Commission and funding agencies and other governmental actors in Member States and Associated Countries. Successful participation in such partnerships not only necessitates human resources and financial commitment but also intersectoral coordination and mobilisation of stakeholders. This is why the policy panel will mainly focus on such issues like planning and providing resources, coordination between sectoral ministries and funding institutions, synergies with structural funds, information and involvement of stakeholder organisations.

At the same time, participation in co-funded partnerships has a number of benefits for the community of researchers like active involvement in the scientific agenda making process, scientific networking or consortium building. The V4 experts in the scientific panel will showcase such good examples related to Cluster 6 co-funded partnerships.

The regional initiative BioEAST can not only provide a useful framework for cooperation but its wide set of working groups and task forces can also serve as platforms for discussions as well as can support the preparation of participation in partnerships.
